The Viture Beast costs $549, has a 58-degree field of view (widest in its class), 1250 nit brightness, 9-level electrochromic dimming, and a built-in 3DoF spatial tracking chip. The commercial firmware now delivers 1920x1200 resolution per eye at 120Hz, settings that persist between sessions, and improved Side Mode with new display positions.
I also tested the Beast with custom prescription lens inserts from Viture. If you wear glasses and you've been wondering whether XR glasses work for you, this is something you'll want to watch.
For context: I reviewed an early version of the Beast months ago and said the $549 price was hard to justify for a product shipping with incomplete firmware. This video is my updated take now that Viture has delivered on those promises.
